Abstract
The title complex was synthesized by reaction of sodium isonicotinate with manganese(III) acetylacetonate. The single crystal structure of t he complex was determined by X-ray diffraction. Around the Mn-III atom the octahedral coordination polyhedron is tetragonally elongated. An isonicotinate anion coordinates to the Mn-III atom through the pyridin e nitrogen atom in the axial direction with a Mn-N bond of 2.293(3) An gstrom, while two acetylacetonate anions chelate to Mn-III in the equa torial plane with average Mn-O length of 1.91 alpha.
