A. Annamalai et Vk. Bhargava, PERFORMANCE OF SELECTION DIVERSITY FOR DS CDMA COMMUNICATIONS OVER RAYLEIGH FADING CHANNELS/, Electronics Letters, 32(21), 1996, pp. 1966-1968
An analytical model to evaluate the performance of selection diversity
is presented. Results indicate that the conventional selection divers
ity scheme, in which the branch with the largest signal-to-noise ratio
(SNR) is chosen, does not accurately reflect the performance of the m
ore commonly implemented selection systems, in which the largest signa
l-plus-interference and noise (S+I) is chosen. Owing to the statistica
l nature of the noise, S+I selection diversity performs better than co
nventional selection diversity model.
