Alj. Teixeira et al., INCREASING THE TRANSMISSION DISTANCE OF SOLITON COMMUNICATION-SYSTEMSBY SELECTIVE FREQUENCY-SHIFTS, Electronics Letters, 32(21), 1996, pp. 1995-1997
The authors show that soliton interaction can be reduced considerably
by selectively introducing a small frequency shift (similar to 100 MHz
) on specific pulses of the bit stream. This technique can almost doub
le the transmission distance of a soliton communication system. The bl
ock diagram of an electronic device for implementing the pattern-depen
dent frequency shifts is also presented.
