Abstract
In the supercritical-Pomeron model, the contribution of the triple-Pom eron diagram violates the unitarity bound on the cross section even if multiple Pomeron exchanges between initial hadrons are taken into acc ount. The asymptotic behavior of the cross section for single diffract ive dissociation is found in the approximation where each Pomeron in t he triple-Pomeron diagram is eikonalized and where elastic interaction s of initial hadrons are taken into account. In this approximation, th e result is sigma(SD)/sigma(tot) proportional to ln(-1/2) s for s --> infinity.
