Abstract
A new lidar technique is proposed to determine simultaneously the effe ctive droplet radius and liquid water content in warm stratiform non-p recipitating clouds. It relies on the retrieval of extinction profiles at two wavelengths 0.53 and 10.6 mu m, and on the relationships linki ng the optical and microphysical parameters. The new technique has bee n tested during a preliminary experiment.
