Abstract
Palladium(O) catalysed coupling of the serine-derived organozinc reage nt 3 with 1-iodoferrocene and 1,1'-diiodofenocene gave the correspondi ng protected ferrocenylalanine and 1,1'-ferrocenylbis(alanine) derivat ives 6 and 8, respectively. Analogous coupling of (haloarene)tricarbon ylchromium complexes with zinc reagent 3, and subsequent decomplexatio n, gave phenylalanine derivatives 11, including the 2-fluorophenylalan ine derivative 11b.
