Abstract
A new method of synthesis of N-alkylphthalimides via alkylation of pht halimide in 'dry' media under microwave irradiation has been elaborate d. The reactions were carried out with high yield (49-95%) by simply m ixing of phthalimide with an alkyl halide which was adsorbed on potass ium carbonate. The irradiation of the mixtures in a domestic microwave oven leads in a remarkable short time (4-10 min) to the desired N-alk ylphthalimides.
