Abstract
First-principles calculations of the electrical conductivity of disord ered ferromagnetic alloys based on the Kubo-Greenwood formalism and th e spin-polarized relativistic Korringa-Kohn-Rostoker coherent-potentia l-approximations method are presented. Application to the alloy system s Co-Pd and Co-Pt yields results for the isotropic and anisotropic res idual resistivity which are in very satisfying agreement with experime nt. In addition, scalar-relativistic calculations of the isotropic res idual resistivity were performed on the basis of the two-current model for these alloy systems, and were found to agree with the relativisti c results fairly well.
