Abstract
Immigration has altered the epidemiology and clinical pattern of tuber culosis in the UK. Clinical awareness needs to be high because of a 25 -fold increased incidence in immigrant subgroups. Drug resistance is a lso increased. New immigrants should be screened for tuberculosis.
