Abstract
We report the case of a patient with short-bowel syndrome, who lost mu ltiple central venous devices over the course of 2 years while treatin g his catheter-related septicemia. Genotyping proved that all infectio us episodes were caused by a single genotype of a Staphylococcus epide rmidis strain, persisting over time.
