Abstract
For a tunneling junction formed by an asymmetric tip apex and a hat su rface, we find that highly circularly polarized light can be emitted b y inelastic tunneling excitation. Furthermore, the degree of circular polarization exhibits a strong dependence on the azimuthal angle of em ission; This indicates that the geometrical features of the tip apex c an define a chiral system.
