Abstract
The use of photoelectrochemical cells - those comprising doped semicon ductor in contact with electrolyte solution requires a layer of protec tant to prevent corrosion at the interface. The role of a variety of f errocene compounds is examined, and one of these. (dichloromethylsilyl ) ferrocene, is encouragingly effective. The scope for varying experim ental parameters gives indications of where real advances are to be ma de.
