Fuzzy logic is an important representational form of grey-scale morpho
logy. In this paper, we introduce a two-stage fuzzy logic architecture
for grey-scale image processing. This architecture is simple, and is
suitable for optical implementation because of its simple connection a
nd no feedback. In addition, we also give the fuzzy logic representati
ons of some basic grey-scale morphological image operations. The fuzzy
logic representations have two forms: SP (sum of product) form and PS
(product of sum) form, so the proposed architecture can also have two
different forms. A simple optoelectronic experiment is implemented, a
nd it is the same as a digital simulation.
