Es. Klein, PHONOLOGICAL TRADITIONAL APPROACHES TO ARTICULATION THERAPY - A RETROSPECTIVE GROUP COMPARISON/, Language, speech & hearing services in schools, 27(4), 1996, pp. 314-323
A retrospective design was used to compare the relative efficacy of tr
aditional and phonological approaches in the treatment of children wit
h multiple articulation disorders. Nineteen children received evaluati
on and therapy based on a traditional paradigm and 17 children receive
d phonologically based evaluation and treatment procedures. Results in
dicated that children in the phonological group showed significantly g
reater improvement in a significantly shorter period of time than chil
dren in the traditional group.
