The deposition velocity of particles to a model surface has been deter
mined experimentally in a wind tunnel by producing an aerosol consisti
ng of monodisperse spheres containing a fluorescent substance. Simulta
neously to the deposition a diluted sample of the aerosol is produced
on a Nuclepore filter. By counting the particles on the deposition sur
face and the filter the deposition velocity can easily be determined.
