Ma. Re et al., SURVIVAL PROBABILITY IN THE PRESENCE OF A DYNAMIC TRAP, Physical review. E, Statistical physics, plasmas, fluids, and related interdisciplinary topics, 54(4), 1996, pp. 4427-4430
We present in this paper a theoretical study for the survival probabil
ity of a system of independent walkers in the presence of a dynamic tr
ap by using the multistate continuous-time random-walk approach. The r
esults presented are exact for any switching-time probability density
controlling the dynamic of the trap, in the one-dimensional case witho
ut bias. The influence of a non-Markovian dynamic for the trap is pres
ented and a comparison with a finite relaxation model is established f
or the long-time limit.
