Mn. Lorenzo et al., SYNCHRONIZATION WAVES IN ARRAYS OF DRIVEN CHAOTIC SYSTEMS, Physical review. E, Statistical physics, plasmas, fluids, and related interdisciplinary topics, 54(4), 1996, pp. 3094-3097
Chaotic synchronization has been observed experimentally and numerical
ly in arrays of Chua's circuits, arranged in both linear and ring geom
etries, that are coupled by using the method recently introduced by Gu
emez and Matias [Phys. Rev. E52, R2145 (1995)]. For open linear geomet
ries, the chaotic cells are seen to synchronize consecutively as a syn
chronization wave spreads through the array. Instead, for circular loo
ps it is found that there is a critical number of cells above which th
e uniform synchronized state is not stable.
