We investigate properties of the fragment multiplicity distribution ob
tained in the sequential binary fragmentation process at the transitio
n line. We show that the multifragment cumulant correlation functions
have the hierarchical, linked-pair structure. Several distinct classes
of multiplicity domains are clearly identified and the asymptotic app
earance of the Koba-Nielsen-Olesen scaling is discussed.
