Abstract
A new computational method has been developed to analyze electromagnet ic wave reflections and transmissions at discontinuous interfaces of c omplicated waveguide structures that is accurate within the limit of s calar wave approximation. This formalism shows good agreement with the solution of a known simple problem, but the strength of the method li es in the capability of the formalism to handle complicated structures which other methods fail to apply.
