Abstract
The polymer electrolyte, [(CH2O)(CH2CH2O)(8.7)](n)-LiCF3SO3 ((a-PEO)(n )LiOTf), and V2O5 were combined by sol-gel chemistry to form layered x erogel nanocomposites. These materials exhibit electronic conductivity via the V2O5 component and ionic conductivity through the (a-PEO)(n)L iOTf. The total conductivity is highly anisotropic with a perpendicula r conductivity 6 orders of magnitude less than the parallel component.
