Measurements of the viscosity eta and density rho are reported for eig
ht binary mixtures of p-dioxane with methylcyclohexane. 1-chlorohexane
, 1-bromohexane, p-xylene, propylbenzene, methyl acetate, butyl acetat
e, and amyl acetate at 303.15 K. The viscosity data have been correlat
ed with the equations of Grunberg-Nissan, of McAllister, and of Auslae
nder. The relation among the excess viscosity Delta ln eta, excess Gib
bs energy of activation Delta G(E) of viscous flow, and intermolecula
r interaction in these mixtures is discussed.
