Abstract
In this work we present elemental composition determined by PIXE, and C-13 and O-18 stable isotope concentrations determined using mass spec trometry for recent and Late Miocene-Pliocene marine shells deposits i n Baja California, Mexico. Recent and fossil mollusk shells show large variations in tract element content along growth lines. Diagenesis in fossils mollusks has resulted in different degrees of depiction in Sr , C-13 and O-18. An enrichment in Mn, Fe and Zn due to the diagenesis process was not clearly observed.
