Abstract
Iron(III)-2,2'-bipyridyl complex obtained, in situ, by direct mixing o f iron(III) and 2,2'-bipyridyl, oxidises \ Co(Bipy)(3)(2+) and the rea ction is markedly accelerated by sodium dodecylsulphate. The rate-[sur factant] profile exhibits a maximum. The kinetic analysis of the micel lar effect has been carried out using Berezin's approach. The binding constants of 2,2'-bipyridyl and Co(Bipy)(3)(2+) have been determined.
