T. Ohlsson et al., CLINICAL USEFUL QUANTITIES OF [F-18] FLUORIDE PRODUCED BY 6 MEV PROTON IRRADIATION OF A (H2O)-O-18 TARGET, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section A, Accelerators, spectrometers, detectors and associated equipment, 379(2), 1996, pp. 341-342
Routine production of [F-18]fluoride has been carried out by 6 MeV pro
ton irradiation of H-2 O-18 water using a small-volume silver target v
essel. By optimizing the target design, a 120 min irradiation of 600 m
u l 97% enriched [O-18]H2O at a beam current of 10 mu A gives a practi
cal yield of 5700+/-80 MBq (154+/-2 mCi). The produced [F-18]fluoride
has been used for no-carrier-added synthesis of 2-(FDC)-F-18.
