Abstract
Locoregional relapse following curative resection (=RO) of gastrointes tinal cancer occurs in 30% (colorectal carcinoma) and up to 70% (ducta l pancreatic cancer) of patients. A potiental, complete removal of a t umor recurrence can be achieved, in particular, in the case of colorec tal carcinoma. For these tumors and all their locations (locoregional, metachronic liver and lung metastasis), 5-year survival rates can amo unt up to 40%. The survival rates of our own paients are presented.
