A FEATURE RECOGNITION SYSTEM WITH INTERACTIVE FEATURE INSPECTION AND DELETION CAPABILITIES

A recognition process of the features in a part model uses the knowled ge of an application engineer. The knowledge is encoded as rules of th e recognition procedure that are applied to the part model during the recognition process. Such a human interaction is difficult to control in extracting the moulding features because the features moulding of t he application engineer may change from one engineer to the other and external conditions may change, Instead, we treat the result of the re cognition process as a first approximation of the user's intention and let the riser interactively modify the result, In this paper, we pres ent a feature recognition system where the riser can inspect the resul t of the recognition and delete the recognised features interactively.
