Abstract
To reduce steel reoxidation from tundish turbulence, a unique anti-spl ash impact pad and flow control device changes were studied by water m odelling and in-plant trials at LTV Steel. Flow characteristics, opera ting conditions, steel cleanliness, and coil performance were compared to those of the regular tundish. Steel cleanliness measurement techni ques and trial results are discussed.
