Abstract
The principle of pressure pouring is explained. Its interest for the c asting of slabs, in the context of the production programme of the Cre usot plant, is presented and the industrial facility started in 1988 i s described. In 1995, 60 % of the plate mill products cast by CPP, but the proportion should increase to 85-90 %. Internal and surface quali ty has been improved thanks to metallurgical studies and the field of application of the process is progressively extended.
