The endoscopic frontal lift is the endoscopic operation carried out mo
st frequently in facial plastic surgery. Tightening the subperiostal m
obilised frontal soft tissue is the most important aspect of the opera
tion. Various instruments have been developed for dissection. The cent
ral problem is that the curvature of the skull calotte increases betwe
en the coronal suture and the orbital margin. We developed, together w
ith the Karl Storz Company, instruments which can be bent by the surge
on to be suitable for use on these topographical features. For differe
nt suspension techniques for tightening the frontal soft tissues which
were not satisfying we developed a technique by using periostal flaps
of the same width as of the skin incisions selected, thus eliminating
the need to use metal screws.
