Abstract
The authors report an unusual case of venous infarction of the spinal cord associated with endoscopic sclerotherapy for esophageal varices. MR imaging findings included signal abnormalities and abnormal enhance ment of the affected spinal cord and T-8 vertebral body. A review of t he hemodynamic changes associated with portal hypertension and the nor mal venous drainage of the spinal cord is presented.
