Seeds of pea (Pisum sativum L.) cv. Janus, Alan, Romeo and Olivin were
obtained in the harvest season in 1991 and 1992 from 11 experimental
stations of UKZUZ and UKSUP of a trial LDO (List of recommended cultiv
ars). Effect of experimental sites on maturation, productivity and som
e seed quality traits was evaluated. Period of ripening was significan
tly different in the experimental sites and years. Varieties were simi
lar in the period of ripening. The yield of seeds was significantly di
fferent in the experimental sites. Weight of thousand seeds was signif
icantly different between varieties, experimental years and sites. Ori
gin of seed affected germination a little. Water sensitivity test exhi
bited greater differences between samples. Results from electric condu
ctivity showed insignificant differences between varieties. Samples fr
om 1991 harvest had a significantly lower value of conductivity than t
hose from the 1992 harvest. Seed origin had small effect on the yield,
there were no differences between varieties and experimental sites. R
esults of the experiments were analysed in order to show interrelation
ship and mutual predictability. The conductivity and water sensitivity
test showed good predictability of field emergence. Final yield was n
ot affected by seed quality expressed by measured traits.
