The presence of salts dissolved in a single or a mixed solvent are cap
able of altering the vapour-liquid equilibrium of the system. The deve
lopement of models utilised in correlation and prediction of the vapou
r-liquid equilibrium are very important in the design of separation an
d purification processes in chemical engineering. Vapour-liquid equili
brium calculations in electrolyte systems are very difficult because o
f interactions complexity between the system components, molecules and
ions. A survey of the literature pertaining to vapour-liquid equilibr
ium calculation in electrolyte systems id reviewed.
