INFECTED SUTURE ANCHORS IN THE SHOULDER

Symptomatic anterior glenohumeral instability secondary to a Bankart l esion may require surgical reconstruction and repair of labral patholo gy. In this report, a Bankart repair was performed using metallic sutu re anchors. An infection developed around the anchors necessitating th eir removal. To our knowledge, this is the first report of an infectio n associated with a suture anchor device.
