E. Rubianes et al., EFFECT OF HIGH PROGESTERONE LEVELS DURING THE GROWING PHASE OF THE DOMINANT FOLLICLE OF WAVE-1 IN ULTRASONICALLY MONITORED EWES, Canadian journal of animal science, 76(3), 1996, pp. 473-475
The effect of high progesterone levels in the growth of the largest (d
ominant) follicle of Wave 1 was monitored by daily ultrasonography in
Corriedale ewes. Progesterone treatment decreased the growing rate (P
< 0.05), lengthened the static phase (P < 0.05) and tended to decrease
the maximum diameter attained by the dominant follicle (P < 0.06).
