The field of the (alpha <----> alpha + sigma) transformation in the Fe
-30% Cr-15% Co-3% Mo alloy and the effect of the amount of sigma phase
on the structure of the alloy in alpha single-phase state are studied
. Dissolution of sigma phase is accompanied by the redistribution of l
attice defects which rather rapidly form substructure and large-angle
boundaries of recrystallization centers in the structure of the alloy.
The dependence of recrystallized-grain size in alpha solid solution o
n the amount of sigma phase is similar to the dependence of the recrys
tallized-grain size on the degree of cold deformation of single-phase
alloys.
