Abstract
We have investigated doubly excited states in Li- by measuring the rel ative partial cross section for photodetaching the Li- ion via the Li( 3s) + e(-) (epsilon p) channel. The observed resonances are associated with the autodetaching decay of doubly excited states of P-1(0) symme try lying just below the Li(4p) and Li(5p) thresholds. Excellent agree ment between the measured and recently calculated spectra was found be low the Li(4p) threshold. In the region below the Li(5p) threshold, ho wever, noticeable differences were observed.
