Abstract
It is expected that nuclear detectors are exposed to radiation when th ey are used near accelerators. The purpose of this report is to study the radiation and annealing effects of Au-Si surface barrier nuclear d etectors, and to make clear deep levels of the defects produced by irr adiation. Irradiations are performed by 10 MeV alpha-particles with th e cyclotron. As a result of this experiment, characteristics of the ir radiated detectors show that reverse currents increase accordingly as reverse biases increase, and for Am-241 alpha-particle (5.48 MeV) coun ting response the energy spectra shift to the lower side compared with that of non-irradiated detectors. The deep levels for the defects are observed at E(c) -0.39 eV by DLTS measurements.
