Micro-Strip Gas Chambers (MSGC) have attracted a lot of attention sinc
e their introduction by Oed [1] due to many promising features: good p
osition resolution, high rate capability and low cost. Here we review
present approaches of building such a detector and solving the problem
s of stable high rate operation and ageing due to gas polymerisation.
Some features necessary for use in high energy physics are discussed s
uch as spatial resolution for inclined tracks and performance in a hig
h magnetic field.
