Technological aspects of the industrial hydropyrolysis process have be
en presented. Several precious chemical raw materials and highly react
ive ecological source of energy were obtained by hydropyrolysis of coa
l of higher sulfur content. Direct combustion of carbonisate from the
process in power plant allows to produce electrical energy with yield
reaching 43% while limiting the sulfur dioxide emission by 90%, if com
pared to conventional process of coal combustion. Hydrorefining of oil
(obtained by non-catalytic hydrogenation of coal) carried out with th
e custom made catalyst removed up to 85% of nitrogen. Development of s
uch catalysts is an important part of complex utilization of coal.
