Common wheat lines with genes of Aegilops speltoides were tested for t
heir ability to suppress the wheat Ph gene. Hybrids were obtained betw
een the lines studied and rye. The c-index was used to estimate the le
vel of pairing between homeologous chromosomes. It was shown that whea
t lines differed from each other in the activity of inductor genes pai
ring homoeological chromosomes, The highest c-index was found in line
11 (c = 0.32). Promising sources for introgression of alien genes into
the wheat genome were found: lines that produce hybrids with bivalent
s and multivalents at MI of meiosis and with c = 0.17-0.32. A complete
scheme for obtaining wheat lines with Ae, speltoides inductor genes o
f homeologous pairing from the genome-substitution form Avrodes is pre
sented.
