Abstract
A theoretical derivation is given of the conditions for competitive dy namics of the interaction of spatial Fourier harmonics of the phase di stribution in a wide-aperture nonlinear interferometer with an externa l diffraction feedback loop. A numerical experiment is used to demonst rate the feasibility of employing such a system in optical image encod ing and recognition.
