Fractal time describes highly intermittent self-similar temporal behav
ior that does not possess a characteristic time scale to be related di
rectly to the barrier crossing parameters like activation energy or tu
nnelling distance. For fractal-time kinetics of any order there are, h
owever, the moments of the distribution of the logarithms of lifetimes
, which are directly related to the moments of the distributions of ba
rrier crossing parameters during the reaction course. These distributi
ons are compared with those following from interpretation of fractal-t
ime equations in terms of superposition of classical patterns, which m
ay be valid only for static systems (rigid matrix approximation).
