A study of lithium insertion in W4Nb26O77 has been carried out. When l
ithium is inserted following an electrochemical route, several single-
phase regions are formed in a reversible reaction. Some lithiated phas
es included in these regions have been synthesized by chemical reactio
n and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction.
