Ga. Machin et al., COMPUTER GRAPHIC 3-DIMENSIONAL RECONSTRUCTION OF NORMAL HUMAN EMBRYO MORPHOGENESIS, Anatomy and embryology, 194(5), 1996, pp. 439-444
Three-dimensional computer graphic reconstructions of four human embry
os at Carnegie stages 11 to 23 portray the relationships and dimension
s of individual organ systems. This paper illustrates the cranial, neu
ral, pharyngeal, gut, vascular and nephric architecture in these devel
oping embryos. This technology can be applied to in situ hybridization
and immunohistochemistry to map zones and times of developmental gene
activity.
