Abstract
In recent years there have been advances in the behavioral management of infant sleep disturbance. Behavioral programs, however, can be cont roversial and difficult to carry out successfully. This article summar izes the information parents and clinicians must have in order to carr y out a program (fact), details of how and when to apply each program (act), and a guide for clinicians supporting parents in choosing and c arrying through an intervention (tact). Information on the use of medi cation and on prevention of sleep disturbance is also provided.
