S. Webster et Dn. Batchelder, ABSORPTION, LUMINESCENCE AND RAMAN-SPECTROSCOPY OF POLY(P-PHENYLENE VINYLENE) AT HIGH-PRESSURE, Polymer, 37(22), 1996, pp. 4961-4968
Optical absorption, photoluminescence and Raman spectra of poly(p-phen
ylene vinylene) have been recorded as a function of pressure to 50 kba
r. Both absorption and emission spectra are observed to red shift with
pressure. The photoluminescence spectrum is observed to decrease in i
ntegrated intensity and lose vibronic structure with increasing pressu
re. Possible explanations of the observed results are discussed. In pa
rticular the possible role of intermolecular effects is highlighted. C
