Abstract
Highly c-axis oriented Bi4Ti3O12 thin films have successfully been pre pared on fused quartz substrates by sol-gel processing. The orientatio n degree of the thin film was about 87%. The thin film exhibits good o ptical transmission. The optical-absorption properties of the thin fil ms have been measured. The variation of bandgap with annealing tempera ture is studied.
