This article describes an approach to multicultural social work resear
ch that is values based and process oriented. Multicultural research i
s defined as a reflective and collaborative process, the ultimate goal
of which is social transformation. Several key challenges to and bene
fits of multicultural research ave presented. Strategies ave recommend
ed to support the development of multicultural research, including a c
all for open debate about the ideological foundations of multicultural
research in social work.
