Abstract
The solvation of palladium diacetate in trifluoroacetic acid has been studied by ab initio quantum chemical calculations and infrared and NM R spectroscopy. We report evidence for the formation of a dicarboxylat e-dicarboxylic acid species, with square planar coordination around th e metal center, through addition of two acid molecules.
