Abstract
In this study we show that the use of the spin-coating technique is no t limited to the preparation of micro-crystals of amphiphilic molecule s, but that it can also be used to deposit molecules which do not have a hydrophilic headgroup. Hydrophilic silicon wafers were spin-coated with solutions of anthracene in chloroform. Atomic force microscopy im ages reveal the molecular packing of the anthracene molecules on the s urface of The micro-crystals. The structure corresponds to single crys tal X-ray diffraction data.
